We are Genesee Valley Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Avon NY. We are one of the first dealers in the United States to be certified to sell and service Dodge Sprinter vans and wagons. Our owner, Dom Genova is a former Truck Manager for the factory. We are "Chrysler Five Star" certified and our sales staff is non-commissioned. We believe in "No-nonsense" deals. We can arrange financing for qualified buyers. We prefer to use Chrysler Business finance as well as several area and national financial institutions. 36 month, 48 month and 60 month lease terms are also available, ask for a quote.

We prefer a wire transfer of funds. We will accept certified checks with the stipulation that they must be verified before the vehicle is released.

There are minimal fees in New York State:

• NYS inspection ($10.00) and tire recycling fee ($12.50)
  
• NYS registration fee for all NY residents ($150-200)
  (Out of state residents pay $30 for an "in transit permit" instead.)
• We charge a minimal $45.00 document fee.
  (NYS does not allow dealers to charge excessive "doc" fees as some other states do. These fees can be hundreds of dollars, you save!)

NYS RESIDENTS - We collect the tax you would pay in your locality and pay it on your behalf just as if you bought the vehicle at home.

OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS - Out of state residents sign an exemption form for NYS, but will be required to pay all taxes and fees for the state they are registering the vehicle in. If you finance your purchase it is possible for us to include the taxes in your deal and give you a check to give to your DMV when you register your vehicle.

We may be able to arrange delivery for a fee but most customers prefer to fly into the Rochester NY International Airport where we arrange to pick them up and bring them back to the dealership. We are just 15 minutes from the airport. Jet Blue and Air Tran are just two of the low cost carriers that serve Rochester.

NYS RESIDENTS - we are able to transfer your existing plates or issue new plates with a valid NYS insurance id card. We will make all the arrangements for you just as if you were buying the vehicle in your hometown.

OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS - The NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles will issue an "in transit permit" (a temporary paper license plate for your back window) to allow you to drive your vehicle to your home state. Instructions on what is needed for such a permit is at the end of this FAQ

Yes - We can tailor a vehicle to your wants and needs. Many colors and options are available. The order time on a special order is about six months from order acceptance.

Obtaining "in transit" permit

1. The name and address of the agent/broker
2. The name and address of the insurance company
3. The policy number
4. The effective date and expiration date of coverage
   (effective date must be on or before the date we obtain the permit.)
5. The insured's name and address
6. The vehicle information: Year, Make, Model & VIN
7. The letter must be signed by the agent/broker
